Atlanta singer-songwriter ANTHONY DAVID made an early return to the UK in January following his December appearance on ‘Later With Jools Holland’.
He appeared at the Blackpool Soul Weekender and also shot a video in London for the single - his classy, soulful remake of Level 42’s Eighties hit ‘Something About You’, which has picked up strong album airplay from BBC London and Smooth FM, as well as featuring on Radio 2.
The video, directed by Shurwin Beckford – long-time producer of MTV’s The Lick - is set to debut on MTV Base in late January.
The vinyl release features a bonus track – Anthony’s collaboration with Swedish DJ/producer Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire on ‘I Wanna Make You Move’, taken from Freddie’s Tru Thoughts album ‘Soul Search’.
Anthony performed the song at the end of his live set on his November UK and European tour.
In the US Anthony has appeared on more than 20 concert dates supporting India Arie, who also features as a guest vocalist on his album ‘The Red Clay Chronicles’. He has written songs on each of her three albums to date.
In the summer he plans to play UK and European festival dates. |
