The expense lavished on these recordings is what independent soul artists can only dream of, and thus too good not to be showcased on a CD such as this. Tracks by Ronee Martin, Tiffany, Donald McCollum and Incognito will appeal straight to a ‘modern soul’ audience where floor-fillers such as this are the bedrock of all-dayers and weekenders. Elsewhere the sophistication of K.Fox and Jack Herrera with the beauty of neo soul acts Sara Devine, Lathun/India Arie, Donnie, Kenny Lattimore and Trina Broussard add to the splendor of this album – not to forget the incredible Mica Paris who’s song “Sixth Street” is heavily in demand.
