Hammondbeat is proud to present the second project with spy-fi authorities The Special Agents, an instro-spy-surf quartet led by the deadly dualist Agent Geoff on both organ and guitar, and backed by Agents Rod (guitar), Chris (bass), and Scott (drums).
Inspired by the Hammondbeat collaboration for retro spy film “Wilson Chance” (2006), The Special Agents have crafted a bang-up homage to the late 60’s spy-fantasy craze, with this soundtrack to the unaired final episode (“Bulletproof”) of their own spy-fantasy series “The Special Agents”.
The Special Agents’ mission: to save the world from dull, soulless music. Their weapons of choice: 12 rump-shaking surf-spy instrumental groovers.
The Special Agents were first discovered from their UK indie EP’s: “Her Majesty’s Secret Surfers” (2000), “Soul Agent” (2001), and “Double-O-Surfin” (2002). And in the best globetrotting spy tradition, they contributed to the Lou Reed tribute “After Hours” (2003) along with many other compilations around the world.
What the world says of The Special Agents…
‘Cast Your Spell’ [is] infectious in a post surf go-go kinda way (Reverb Central).
The Special Agents play vibrant and haunting music that will delight 007 aficionados (Garage & Beat Magazine).
‘Wilson Chance Theme’ is a great Hammond-led track with a knowing nod to the James Bond Theme, and the twangy guitar of ‘Tinker Tailor...’ forms the ideal background for trailing bad guys in your convertible (Sandman Magazine). |
