THE YARDS’ Bradford Hoopes is not your run-of-the-mill B3 minister. More testifyin’ than you’re likely to hear from today’s Hammond heroes. With near human-voice execution there resonates a feeling of life, loss, and redemption while serving up healthy doses of funky abandon.

THE YARDS includes eleven original songs recorded in classic jam band New Orleans funk and Chicago soul. For authenticity, no overdubs or rehearsals went into the recording of this record – just jazz-fusion jamming in its purest form from a group of stellar musicians that are able to translate great technical playing into a wonderful listening experience. Favorites include the groove-til-you-drop “Sweet Potato Soup” to the funky “Here Comes The Yard Man”.

THE YARDS was recorded in 2000, and remastered in 2002. THE YARDS have released 3 independent live recordings along with a limited edition 7” single. THE YARDS have also been featured on the soundtrack counterpart Wilson Chance: The Sound of Danger (2004, Hammondbeat) to the 6T’s spy-revivalist film Wilson Chance (2006, Bunzendahl Brothers, USA), as well as on the Boogaloo To Jack McDuff compilation (2005, Vitamin Records).

THE YARDS are Bradford Hoopes (Hammond organ), Eric Johnson (electric guitar), Brian Baggett (electric guitar), Tom Johnson (electric bass), and Kelly White (drums).

If you are truly a disciple of the funky Hammond groove, then THE YARDS is for you. Without it, your life is incomplete!
